Voice Recognition and Bluetooth Technology

Voice recognition is a technology piquing the interests of many consumers, particularly mobile phone users. Although legislators have safety in mind with the passing of new laws, it is impractical and simply unrealistic for some people not to answer their phones while behind the wheel. Indeed, holding a phone to your ear while driving can lead to many distractions which take your attention off the road. However, with the introduction of new and improved voice recognition technology, motorists have the ability to chat on their phones and do it in a safe manner.

Bluetooth technology has become a crutch for workers in various industries throughout the globe. As more phones are designed with the new wireless standard, Bluetooth headsets have become increasingly popular. These devices allow employees to multitask, whether it's on foot, in the office, or on the road. This technology makes everyday communications much more enjoyable and safer as you can have an in depth conversation without taking your eyes off the road. The implementation of voice recognition offers more benefits as you can be completely hands-free, answering and making phone calls with the simple command of your voice.

Advancements in Voice Recognition

When first implemented into mobile phones, voice recognition was not all that efficient. The devices were difficult to configure and didn't integrate well with all voices. Over the last five years or so, the technology has made tremendous improvements, as the programs are easier to use and voice signals can be deciphered much faster. Today's software is designed with various dialects and regional accents in mind. One of the biggest improvements is that voice recognition programs are able to recognize the user's voice over time, resulting in less errors and better accuracy. Additionally, the technology has greatly enhanced the functionality of Bluetooth-enabled phones.

How Voice Recognition Works with Bluetooth

The incorporation of voice recognition in Bluetooth devices is a method that uses the best of both technologies. When you are on the road and need to dial out, the mobile phone detects your voice and automatically places the call. This freedom of being able to safely drive and talk can be provided by a Bluetooth-enabled headset or the speaker phone functionality of another Bluetooth device. By keeping your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road, you are not only ensuring your own safety, but the safety of other motorists as well.

One major reason voice recognition tends to perform well with Bluetooth is because the headsets are generally comfortable. Furthermore, many of the microphones are very sensitive, able to produce exceptional audio while filtering out road traffic and other distracting sounds. When combined with voice recognition, a Bluetooth headset makes mobile communications as safe as they can be.

It is almost certain that strict laws banning the use of cell phones while driving will not be adhered completely. Rather than completely giving up their conversations, more people should invest into voice recognition, instead of relying on their eyes and hands to make phone calls. This is an easier and safer way to have your cake and eat it too.
