The new service, based on speaker verification technology from Nuance, automatically confirms Dubai Municipality's trusted officer’s identity using the unique characteristics of their voice and offers speed and convenience in reporting environment violations.

Dubai Municipality has always been at the forefront of ensuring a healthy and clean environment for Dubai's residents. "The new bilingual speech recognition system, a first in the world, will allow our trusted officers to privately dial a direct line while they are on the move. Using their natural voice and voice print, the officers can instantly register the violation of various environmental fines across the city," said Mr. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality.

Mr. Lootah added: "At a later stage, the new fine system will be followed by Auto Attendant and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) services in the second and third phase of the project."

"With our commitment towards multi-accents, we have continuously enhanced the bilingual speech recognition capability and is now being topped up with the voice biometric technology," said Mr. Sassine Mazraani, CEO of Emerging Technologies.

"Dubai Municipality is working to minimise environmental offenses and ensure Dubai's status as a healthy city for residents and visitors."
